Clarkston video review transcript: Clarkston at the Trafalgar theatre. It stars Joe Locke and Ruaridh Mollica as two co workers during the night shift at Costco in a small rural town in America.
And Joe Locke’s character Jake, has blown in while on a journey across the country, and more, of which you find out later on in the play.
Chris, Ruaridh Mollica’s character lives in the area, hasn’t really been out of the area very much, and is hiding away from his troubled mother.
Now, the two come from very different backgrounds but bond and you watch their relationship flourish and and grow as the two get to know each other more, sharing their their dreams and desires.
There’s a lot of darker stuff in this play that sort of sits at the edge.
It feels like quite a gentle play, considering all the areas that it could go into. That’s not necessarily a bad thing.
The performances are great. The two leads are superb. They’re brilliant at capturing the differences and then the camaraderie and the connection between the two main characters.
This gonna sound like not much praise. It’s a good play. It’s solid, but it’s not amazingly great.
I think it lacks a little bit of challenge, but that’s kind of okay, so, yeah, that’s how I would that’s how I would sum it up.
