Flicked on social media this morning to cast my eye over the winners of the Oliver Awards and particular chuffed to see two names on the list.
First up was Flesh and Bone which won Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre (basically best fringe production).
I gave it five stars when I saw it for its clever mix of Shakespearean lyricism and East End vernacular.
And I was also chuffed to bits to see Patsy Ferran win Best Actress for the heartbreaking Summer and Smoke, Almeida Theatre (another five-star review from me).
She is brilliant in everything I've seen her in and I was so pleased when she was cast in such a meaty lead role in an off-West End Theatre.
The play ended up having a much-deserved transfer to the Duke of York's in the West End.
For her to get this sort of recognition is amazing and I'm hoping it means lots more meaty roles for her on stage (and screen).
And I love this little video they did of her with her award.
